Native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, with particular ties to India. The national tree of Thailand is admired for its vibrant yellow flowers which bloom in spectacular fashion. Traditionally, it has found extensive use in Ayurvedic, Unani, and Chinese medicine for treating various ailments. The bark, seeds, and leaves are utilized for their potent anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective (liver-protecting), antitussive (cough-suppressing), antibacterial, and antifungal properties.
