Brunfelsia americana is native to the Caribbean, the shrub has creamy white flowers that open at night, releasing an intense, sweet fragrance. Known to be astringent, the fruit has been utilized traditionally as a tonic to alleviate chronic diarrhea and stomach ailments. Photographed in Florida and Colombia.
