Brugmansia arborea (Angel's Trumpet)

Native to the Andean mountains of South America, specifically in regions in the drier valleys of the Andes, often at elevations between about 6,550 to 9,850 feet. Cultivated across North America, Africa, Australia for its ornamental value, underscored by its strong fragrance and trumpet-shaped, white to ivory-white or cream flowers. Traditionally, it has found use for its analgesic, anti-rheumatic, vulnerary, decongestant, anti-spasmodic, and anti-cholinergic properties​. Consuming any part of it, especially the leaves and seeds, can lead to severe poisoning, manifesting in symptoms such as confusion. Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia.
