Brugmansia insignis (Angel's Trumpet)

Native to Bolivia, northern Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, this is a tree in the Solanaceae family. It develops as a small tree. The striking feature of this species lies in its large, fragrant flowers which not only serve as a visual delight but also hold a unique shape akin to trumpets, hence the common name. These flowers boast a long corolla at the edge measuring 1.2 to 2.4 inches, and a very narrow, extra-long tubular extension at the base of the flower corolla. Photographed in Colombia.
