Hailing from Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. The tree is known to bear globose inflorescences directly on its trunk and main branches, each densely packed with 30 to 50 flowers. Each flower showcases a delightful arrangement of five red obovate petals, contrasted by 10 to 15 orange-red stamina with rich nectar attracting hummingbirds. Photographed in Colombia and Ecuador.
