Brassocatanthe George King ‘Serendipity’ is a renowned hybrid orchid within the Cattleya alliance, celebrated for its exceptionally large, showy flowers that can exceed 6 inches in diameter. This cultivar is valued for its pastel lavender petals and sepals, which are broad and slightly undulated, complementing a dramatic ruffled lip marked with a vivid magenta central splash that transitions to bright golden yellow and orange near the throat. Developed through selective hybridization involving Brassavola, Cattleya, and Guarianthe parentage, it combines the robust growth habit and fragrance potential of its lineage with long-lasting blooms. The striking color contrasts and refined form have made ‘Serendipity’ a consistent award winner in orchid shows and a sought-after specimen for collectors. Photographed in Florida.
