Brassavola tuberculata is an epiphytic orchid species native to southeastern Brazil, thriving in warm, humid forests where it attaches to tree trunks and branches, often in bright, airy canopy locations. This species is notable for its elegant star-shaped flowers, featuring elongated yellow-green petals and sepals surrounding a large, rounded white labellum with a slightly ruffled margin. The lip is subtly marked with pale yellow or cream near the throat, guiding pollinators toward the reproductive structures. The leaves are long, narrow, and leathery, emerging from small pseudobulbs that store water and nutrients, enabling the plant to withstand dry spells. Brassavola tuberculata typically blooms in the warmer months, releasing a sweet fragrance most pronounced at night to attract moth pollinators. This species is also valued in hybridization programs.
