Bogotá Botanical Garden, Colombia

An attractive, expansive garden, generally well manicured, though parts are unkempt. Entry fee is only a dollar and you can easily spend the day enjoying the beauty. During the work-week few people are in attendance. You and your girlfriend can almost frolic in the nude as if it were your own private Eden. Well maybe not. It can be quite chilly. I am amazed by the variety of flowering sub-tropical and tropical plants that grow in Bogotá considering the year-round average low is in the mid-40s with a high only in the mid-60s.

Occasionally the temperature can go below freezing. Bogotá has light rain half the days of the year. Garden staff will often search your belongings before entering or leaving the garden.
