Bomarea moritziana
Native to the Andes foothills of Ecuador, Bomarea moritziana is a perennial climbing plant adapted to cool, moist environments. It produces distinctive flowers with six tepals—three outer and three inner—arranged in a radial pattern, the inner tepals often displaying yellow bases with speckled markings that contrast with the deep red exterior. Photographed in Eastern Ecuador.
