Bignonia capreolata (Cross Vine)
Native to the southeastern United States, Bignonia capreolata, commonly known as crossvine, is a vigorous, woody, evergreen to semi-evergreen climber. It climbs using branched tendrils, allowing it to ascend to heights of 30–50 ft. The plant’s flowers are tubular, about 2 in long, with a velvety red to reddish-pink outer surface and a contrasting orange or yellow throat, typically blooming in dense clusters in mid to late spring. Photographed in Florida.
