Begonia semiovata

Native to northern Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, and Guatemala and nearby regions, this is an herbaceous plant in the Begoniaceae family. This short-lived trailing or erect herb grows in humid lowland forest, commonly on riverbanks and other moist slopes. Photographed in the Chocó region of Ecuador.
