Begonia parviflora
Native to Central and South America, Begonia parviflora is a herbaceous perennial that grows in humid montane forests, often along shaded slopes and stream banks at elevations up to about 6,600 ft. It forms tall, upright stems bearing large, asymmetrical leaves and produces expansive, many-branched inflorescences. Each cluster holds numerous small, white flowers about ¼ in across, with bright yellow reproductive structures that stand out against the pale tepals. Photographed in Ecuador.
