Baccharis padifolia bears rounded pink flowerhead clusters at the tips of leafy branches

Baccharis padifolia

Native to Colombia and Ecuador, this shrub occurs in Andean vegetation, including high-elevation woodland patches and forest margins. It belongs to the daisy family, although its small flowerheads lack the conspicuous outer rays found in familiar garden daisies. Like other Baccharis species, it bears many tiny flowers grouped into heads. In Ecuador, it also grows near the upper forest boundary. Photographed in Ecuador.
