Azara dentata

Endemic to Chile, from the Coquimbo region south to Araucanía, this evergreen shrub or small tree can grow about 13 to 26 feet tall. Its strongly fragrant yellow flowers have no showy petals; long, brightly colored stamens give the clusters their fuzzy appearance. The flowers are followed by small red-black berries. Its native habitat has a Mediterranean climate. Photographed in Florida.
