Austroeupatorium inulifolium

This species is a perennial shrub native to South America, including Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, and Bolivia. It can reach heights of 3 to 10 feet and is characterized by its broad, lanceolate leaves with serrated margins and dense terminal clusters of small white florets that produce a fluffy appearance when in bloom. The plant has a strong capacity for rapid colonization due to prolific seed production and wind dispersal, allowing it to quickly occupy open or degraded land. In areas where it has been introduced, such as parts of Asia and the Pacific, it can become invasive, forming dense thickets. Photographed in Colombia.
