Two star-shaped white flowers of Augusta rivalis blooming against dark green leaves
Augusta rivalis

Augusta rivalis is a small to medium-sized flowering shrub or small tree native to tropical regions of Central America. It belongs to the Rubiaceae family and is recognized for its elegant, star-shaped white flowers with five narrow petals arranged in a pinwheel form. These flowers, often lightly fragrant, emerge in small clusters and stand out vividly against the glossy, dark green, elliptic leaves. The plant blooms intermittently throughout the year. Photographed in Florida.
