Ascocentrum Motes Mandarin
A cultivated hybrid orchid, Motes Mandarin belongs to the vandaceous group, whose wild relatives include many epiphytes of tropical Asia. These orchids grow from a continuing main stem, with leaves arranged along it and abundant aerial roots. They lack the swollen pseudobulbs found in many other orchids. Motes Mandarin has also been used as a breeding parent, including in the cross registered as Vanda Timothy Choltco. Photographed in Florida.
