A maroon-purple and white Aristolochia littoralis flower with a bright yellow throat
Aristolochia littoralis (Calico Flower)

Originally hailing from the coasts of Brazil, the Calico Flower is both an ornamental vine and an invasive species. The large vibrant butterfly-patterned blooms are what predominantly draw attention. The plant contains aristolochic acid, a toxic compound that poses health risks when ingested. Photographed in Quindio, Colombia.
