Archontophoenix myolensis (Myola Palm)
Native to the Atherton Tableland in northeastern Queensland, Australia, this evergreen palm has a very restricted wild range near Myola and Kuranda. It grows in riverine rain forest, including the Warrill Creek and Barron River area. A single trunk supports a crown of feather-like leaves. Branched inflorescences emerge below the leafy crown and carry many small flowers. It is listed as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Endangered in Australia and Queensland. Photographed in Florida.
