Aphelandra acanthus

Native to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, this is a shrub in the Acanthaceae family. One of sixty-seven endemic Colombian species of the genus Aphelandra with a habitat between 6,600 and 11,200 feet. Photographed in the Central Andes of Colombia.
