Anthopterus wardii
Native to Ecuador and Colombia, Anthopterus wardii is a member of the Ericaceae family and typically inhabits regions with cool, moist conditions. It grows as an evergreen shrub with thick, leathery leaves adapted to its misty mountain environment. The species is recognized for its striking pendulous clusters of tubular flowers, which are usually vivid red to orange-red with contrasting darker throats. Photographed in Chocó, Ecuador.
