Amicia glandulosa
Native to southern Panama, Ecuador, and northern Peru, this scrambling shrub grows in scrub and forest remnants, sometimes along roadsides. Its flexible branches can reach about 6.5 feet long in Ecuador. The leaves have four leaflets with small, translucent glands on their undersides. Yellow, pea-shaped flowers grow in small clusters, accompanied by conspicuous leaflike bracts. The seedpods are divided into sections, each containing a single seed. Photographed in Peru.
