Aloe tororoana
Native to southeastern Uganda, this small succulent subshrub develops offsets that form compact colonies. Fine white spots cover the leaves. Slender flowering stalks reach about one and a third feet, carrying glossy red-orange flowers with greenish tips. Additional populations have been documented near the original locality, and the species is classified as Vulnerable. Its rocky habitat is threatened by mining, urban expansion and cultivation. New plants can be grown from offsets. Photographed in Florida.
