Aliceara hybrid

These cultivated intergeneric orchid hybrids combine ancestry from Brassia, Miltonia, and Oncidium. Their parent genera originate in the tropical Americas, where many species grow as epiphytes on trees. These hybrids develop pseudobulbs that store water and support successive leafy growths. Their flower forms combine characteristics inherited through several generations of crossing, and their horticultural names group plants by shared parentage. Photographed in Florida.
