Alchemilla orbiculata
Native from Mexico to western Bolivia, this low-growing perennial herb forms spreading mats or small cushions in mountain habitats. Its rounded, lobed leaves surround clusters of tiny greenish-yellow to cream flowers. The small fruits are achenes. In Colombia, it occurs in the Andes and Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta from about 4,900 to 13,100 feet, including pƔramo vegetation. It also grows in grasslands, shrubland and forest margins, and can be common in abandoned pastures. Photographed in Colombia.
