Aglaiocercus kingi (Long-tailed Sylph)

The Long-tailed Sylph, is a hummingbird with a broad distribution in South America. It resides in habitats ranging from subtropical/tropical moist montane forests to shrubland and high-altitude grasslands, typically found at elevations between 2,953 and 8,858 feet​​. The Long-tailed Sylph is fairly common. However, there is concern as the species is suspected to be experiencing a decline due to habitat loss and degradation. Currently, this hummingbird is listed as 'Least Concern' on the IUCN Red List​​. Photographed in the Western Andes Mountain Range.
