Aechmea Jeanne Eunice bears blue flowers among pink branches above a leafy rosette

Aechmea 'Jeanne Eunice'

This cultivated perennial bromeliad develops a leafy rosette and a tall, branching inflorescence. The flowering stalk can reach about four to five feet. Pink floral structures contrast with pale blue petals edged in deeper blue, and the colorful display persists for several weeks. Mature plants produce offsets around the original rosette, eventually forming substantial groups. These successive rosettes maintain the plant after the flowering rosette completes its life cycle. Photographed in Florida.
