Aechmea 'Frappuccino'

This cultivated evergreen bromeliad forms a rosette of firm, sharply edged leaves. Silver bands cross the dark foliage, while the undersides have reddish tones. Its upright flower display combines red bracts with yellow tips. Like other rosette-forming bromeliads, a flowering rosette produces offsets that develop into new plants. Photographed in Florida.
