Acacia baileyana purpurea (Purple Fernleaf Acacia)

A small ornamental tree with weeping branches, it showcases silvery blue-gray, feathery leaves that are tinged with purple when they emerge. The tree is relatively short-lived less than 30 years. It is popular in Mediterranean climate regions and between 7,000 and 10,000 feet in altitude in Ecuador and Colombia. It has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
