Orange and peach Oncostelopsis Leopoldo flowers with cream areas and bright yellow-orange centres form a loose cluster

Oncostelopsis Leopoldo

Of cultivated hybrid origin, this orchid belongs to the Oncidium alliance and results from the cross Oncidopsis Pacific Waters with Oncostele Aloha Sparks. Loose clusters of orange and peach-toned flowers show pale cream areas and contrasting bright yellow-orange centres. The plant grows from pseudobulbs, producing new leafy growths in succession. Its name records an intergeneric orchid breeding combination rather than a wild species. Photographed in Florida.
