Evolvulus tenuis

Native from southeastern Mexico through tropical America, this subshrub grows in seasonally dry habitats. It belongs to Evolvulus, a group of non-twining plants in the morning-glory family. Their flowers have fused petals that spread into a rounded or funnel-shaped corolla. Its growth habit contrasts with the climbing vines common in the same family. Photographed in Florida.
