Lavandula pinnata has a dense spike of blue purple tubular flowers with dark veins emerging above silvery buds

Lavandula pinnata (Fern Leaf Lavender)

Native to Madeira and the Canary Islands, fern leaf lavender is a spreading evergreen shrub that grows to about three feet tall. Its finely divided, fern-like leaves are gray-green and covered in pale hairs. Fragrant blue-purple flowers form long, unbranched spikes above the foliage. Softwood or semi-ripe cuttings are used for propagation. Photographed in Florida.
