Gurania eriantha has a bright red-orange hairy flower cluster with elongated sepals and small yellow flowers

Gurania eriantha

Native to Central and tropical South America, this climbing vine grows through wet forest vegetation. Broad, hairy leaves vary from simple, oval shapes to deeply lobed forms. Hanging flower clusters have vivid red-orange sepals surrounding smaller yellow petals. The conspicuous clusters of male flowers stand out against the foliage. Plants can change from producing male flowers to producing female flowers as they grow larger, with flowering patterns influenced by their size and growing conditions. Photographed in Colombia.
