Veronica spicata

Native across parts of Europe and temperate Asia, Veronica spicata is a clump-forming perennial herb of grasslands, slopes, and open rocky habitats. Upright stems carry narrow leaves and dense tapering flower spikes. Numerous small violet-purple blossoms open from the lower portion upward while compact buds remain at the tip.
