Veitchia winin

Native to Vanuatu, Veitchia winin is a solitary-trunked palm of wet tropical forest. A smooth green crownshaft supports arching pinnate leaves high above the trunk. Large branched inflorescences emerge below the crownshaft with cream flowers, and numerous small fruits mature from green through red to nearly black. Photographed in Florida.
