Tropaeolum adpressum paired red-spurred flowers with green margins and dark patterned centers

Tropaeolum adpressum

Native to the Andes of southern South America, Tropaeolum adpressum is a delicate climbing herb that threads through neighboring vegetation. Slender stems carry rounded to shallowly lobed leaves and long-stalked flowers. Each blossom has a narrow red spur, greenish outer segments, and dark internal markings surrounding the reproductive structures. Photographed in Colombia.
