Stanhopea connata × Stanhopea tigrina

A cultivated orchid hybrid between two tropical American Stanhopea species, Stanhopea connata × Stanhopea tigrina produces pendent inflorescences below its basket or support. Large waxy flowers have cream to yellow segments marked with maroon spots and a complex central lip. Pleated leaves rise from clustered pseudobulbs above the flowers. Photographed in Florida.
