Ruellia simplex 'Dwarf Katie'
A compact cultivated form of the tropical American perennial Ruellia simplex, ‘Dwarf Katie’ forms low clumps of narrow leaves. Its purple funnel-shaped flowers have five broad, slightly crinkled lobes and arise just above the foliage. The dwarf habit distinguishes this selection from the taller upright forms of the species. Photographed in Florida.
