Ravenia spectabilis
Ravenia spectabilis is a shrub in the citrus family, native to Cuba and Haiti. It grows in tropical forests and scrublands. Its opposite compound leaves usually have three leaflets with a papery to leathery texture. Flowers occur singly or in small clusters and have a cylindrical tube opening into five spreading lobes, colored deep pink to purplish red. Two fertile stamens and three whitish sterile stamens occupy the flower throat. Photographed in Florida.
