Prosthechea vespa

An epiphytic orchid distributed from Central America through tropical South America, Prosthechea vespa inhabits humid forests from lowlands into mountain regions. Its waxy flowers have greenish cream segments densely marked with purple-brown spots and a white lip crossed by magenta lines. Several flowers are carried on an upright inflorescence.
