Pitcairnia bakeri

A bromeliad native to the wet forests of western Colombia and Ecuador, Pitcairnia bakeri is especially associated with the Chocó biogeographic region and adjacent Andean foothills. Its vivid orange tubular flowers emerge individually along a dark, densely textured inflorescence. The corolla lobes curve outward as the stamens extend beyond the flower opening.
