Ruttya fruticosa

Ruttya fruticosa is an evergreen shrub native to eastern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Glossy opposite leaves surround orange to yellow tubular flowers with a dark maroon patch on the lower lip. The corolla has a hooded upper lip and a spreading lower lip, with the contrasting throat patch concentrated near the center. Photographed in Florida.
