Plectranthus ecklonii
Plectranthus ecklonii is a subtropical shrub native to South Africa. Broad, softly textured leaves occur in opposite pairs on upright stems. Branched flower clusters carry many lavender to violet two-lipped flowers, with long stamens extending beyond the petals. The inflorescences rise well above the foliage and branch into repeated pairs of flowers along the upper stems. Photographed in Florida.
