Philodendron mello-barretoanum
Philodendron mello-barretoanum is a robust aroid native from Bolivia to central Brazil. It grows as a subshrub or terrestrial plant in seasonally dry tropical habitats. Mature specimens form an upright trunk marked by old leaf scars and carry very large, deeply divided leaves. The foliage creates a broad architectural crown, while the inflorescence consists of a spadix enclosed by a thick spathe. Photographed in Florida.
