Native to Belize, Bolivia, northeastern Brazil, northern Brazil, southeastern Brazil, and southern Brazil and nearby regions, it is a tree in the Urticaceae family. It develops a woody trunk and leafy crown, with yellow flowers borne on its branches. Photographed in Colombia.
