Developed in Florida from African plants, this cultivated flowering shrub is a hybrid of Dombeya burgessiae E-29 and the related selection ‘Rosemound’. The plant forms a dense, medium-sized shrub with dark green foliage. Strong purplish-red flowers grow in broad, many-flowered clusters, giving the cultivar its value as a landscape ornamental.
