Bauhinia divaricata
Native to the Caribbean, Central America, and parts of Mexico, Bauhinia divaricata is a small deciduous tree, typically found in dry forests, coastal thickets, and scrubland. It is distinguished by its delicate, irregularly shaped flowers with narrow, twisted petals that vary from pale pink to white, each bloom extending long stamens that create a striking, airy appearance. The bilobed leaves resemble a camel’s hoof, a signature trait of the genus. Photographed in Florida.
