Acmella repens is a low-growing, spreading herbaceous plant native to the southeastern United States, Mexico, Central America, and parts of South America. It thrives in wet, marshy habitats and is often found along moist, open areas where it forms dense mats, helping to control erosion. Its ability to spread quickly in favorable conditions has made it an effective ground cover in wetland gardens and restoration projects. This plant produces distinctive round flower heads that range in color from yellow to golden-orange, which bloom throughout the warm months. Photographed in Colombia.
