Originating from Mexico, the species is a vibrant addition to many gardens worldwide. The vines have colors in tricolor pattern of blue, pink, purple, or white with a pale yellow center. Numerous cultivars have been developed to capitalize on its attractive flower colors. Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Central).
