A Wisteria sinensis inflorescence with different shades of purple flowers with yellow and white centers in sunlight
Wisteria sinensis

A large deciduous vine native to China, renowned for its twisting stems and profusion of scented flowers that appear in spring. These blossoms, which vary in color from white to violet or blue, are known for their grape-like fragrance and emerge in racemes before the foliage. It has since become a cornerstone of temperate ornamental gardening, with the ability to create canopies of flowers when trained over structures or to form free-standing trees. One of the most remarkable specimens is the Sierra Madre Wisteria in California, recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest blossoming plant. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
